We have analysed the First Test to death and come up with our selections for the Second Test.

The 1014 Show

How can the Lions beat this All Blacks side? It would appear that they can create enough opportunities, but how do they get their hands on the ball? Were players selected on reputation for the First Test? Here in The Shed we have a crack at selecting the Lions team for the Second Test.

I am a total sports fanatic; it is as simple as that. I love all sports, and when I’m not sitting at my computer living my dream with The 1014, I am planning adventures. The last time I did this I ended up convincing my wife to cycle 26,125km across three continents, and 22 countries with me as part of the Pedalling Prescotts.

  1. Did you mean to show Halfpenny and North in starting line up on the caption after raving about the back 3 in previous (and next) Video?

  2. Hi guys i didnt mean to sound critical i was just trying to clatify. I should have said how much I enjoy your videos. I even found myself counting 3 seconds for fast ball away from ruck during 1st test. All Blacks seem to get 3 seconds or under for large periods.

    • Hi Brett,
Thanks a lot for the comment and thanks a lot for pointing out the Back Three. We will be working on getting this more correct in the future.
Really pleased you are enjoying the videos and really pleased you started counting the breakdown seconds. Cheers

  3. Hi, just an idea about the Lions selection for the second test. As Teo has been dropped to the bench do you think the Lions may try and protect Sexton from set piece. This is no criticism of Sexton as he’s very brave in the tackle, however brave or not he’s not going to knock Sonny Bill back! Also I’m a bit annoyed about some of the UK press criticism of Alun Wyn, they just don’t seem to appreciate how good that AB second row is. Retalick is an all time great & Whitelock not far behind, Alun Wyn Jones is a warrior and his experience will be invaluable, especially as the rest of the front five are pretty green in test terms. Enjoying the videos, and will keep watching throughout the rugby championship. Hope you will be able to continue during the Autumn Internationals where I’ll be at the principality for the Blacks game
    Cheers

    • Thanks a lot for taking the time to comment Robert Evans. I think Sexton has nowhere to hide and will need to step up. Gatland will have total faith in him doing that (but I could be wrong). AWJ will be coming under fire, and you’re spot on, he is being compared to two giants of the game.
Really pleased you are enjoying the videos and hopefully we can continue after the Lions. There is a lot of content out there that needs to be created. Cheers, Steven
