The Rugby Championship of 2017 is finally upon us.

And with it, the long count down to the Rugby World Cup begins.

There are so many sub plots to consider when looking at the big picture that it is impossible to miss these matches.

  • Will the All Blacks be able to bounce back from the disappointment of the Lions series? Can they find a reliable goal-kicker? Is the midfield partnership one to take to a World Cup?
  • What of the Boks? They have been anything but good in the last two Championships. Can they translate their French series form into the Championship? Have they found the perfect second row? Will their back three develop to be somewhere near world class this season?
  • The Pumas ran a weakened England close in June. Will they build on this? Can they make those 50/50 decisions count? Can they get the ball into wide channels early, and if so, will it pay dividends?
  • And as for Australia. The Super competition has been cruel to the Western Force, will this impact their performances? They were poor in June, surely they will now be on the up? Can Cheika, a mastermind of a coach and tactician bring it all together?

These questions and a lot more are discussed. If you have any interest in the Rugby World Cup, your enjoyment will increase if you get amongst this series.

I am a total sports fanatic; it is as simple as that. I love all sports, and when I’m not sitting at my computer living my dream with The 1014, I am planning adventures. The last time I did this I ended up convincing my wife to cycle 26,125km across three continents, and 22 countries with me as part of the Pedalling Prescotts.
